I was a miner I was a docker I was a railway man Between the wars I raised a family In times of austerity With sweat at the foundry Between the wars I paid the union and as times got harder I looked to the government to help the working man But they brought prosperity down at the armory We're arming for peace, me boys Between the wars I kept the faith and I kept voting Not for the iron fist.

Nov 16,  · Satur-debut – BILLY BRAGG “LIFE’S A RIOT WITH SPY VS SPY” Billy Bragg’s debut, Life’s A Riot With Spy Vs Spy, must be one of the shortest albums (debut or otherwise) ever released, so I’ll make this introduction equally brief as I already explained why I love it in the third Great Out Of The Gate post back in (see below). `Life's a Riot with Spy vs. Spy' screams for attention with the same originality today as it did in The `Urban' folk music of Billy Bragg has never gone out of fashion, it was famously, never in fashion and this debut album is a timeless reminder of the electric troubadour who would later dub himself `Johnny Clash' arrived fully formed like the `Milkman of Human Kindness' personified/5(12).

Aug 09,  · I find peculiar, that the first release of Life's a riot and Between wars, might be considered as a compialtion. The fact that Between Wars never been issued in US and Canadian Market, make this an original release and not a compilation, as it would be done in CD/5(31).
